varna, the pearl of the black sea, third biggest city in bulgaria (after sofia and plovdiv) with 350.000 inhabitants. it is the hometown of the headquarters of the bulgarian navy. in the last years varna developed in an modern cosmopolitan city with a lot of facilities like several medical and technical universities and high schools. there are many archaeological sites, old churches and musea. the primorski park and the vladislev varnenchik naval museum are well-know touristic attractions.
